Weird Starting Problem
I will turn the key to start it ( all lights on everything fine) and then nothing happens and the battery will act like it's dead. Lights interior will be dim and no dash lights.
Then if you unhook the battery and reconnect it it will be fine most of the time. Might take 2 tries unhooking then rehooking but it will start. Battery is not dead like it seems.
The battery is only 6 months old, and I don't know where else to start.
What gives?
A friend of mine has a 1997 F-150, and his did the same thing from time-to-time, except he didn't have to disconnect the battery cables. When we finally put in a new ignition switch, it quit.
Could also be a small *short* in the battery cables. When you take them off and put them back on, you might be moving them just right so they can make contact.
Hope this helps!
