bcjim- The Ford warranty doesn't sound vague to me. They specifcally mention lifts, chips, exhaust and intake systems, and other performance enhancing modifications. Pretty straight forward if you ask me. Lift=warranty denied. So, modify after the warranty period, or you may not be covered. As for me, I don't blame Ford at all here, when I see the quality of most aftermarket parts. (one size fits all, just cut this, drill a hole here, chop into the wiring harness over there, grind a little off here, etc.)
I agree, it's not vague............however, this staement.....;
if the installed part fails or causes a Ford part to fail. Examples
include, but are not limited
....is the key. Ford CANNOT void an entire warranty over a lift...just the parts it affects.
The larger tire argument I hate to concede would be valid....but arguable.
In other words, a tire that is 10% larger would, in theory, add 10% to the indicated odometer reading..........If a truck has an indicated 25,000 miles Ford CANNOT claim it has 36K.
Get to that 32,000 mile mark and have had the tires since mile 1......you may lose.
well, i am meaning...if i install just some 31" tires, and lets say they are not available stock, and my #1 injector fails on my truck....potentially, ford will not do the warranty work because of the tires?

Absolutely impossible.........UNLESS the dealer tries to claim you're over your miles because of the tires.
Maybe I can help clear some of this up with a real example. You install a K&N intake on your new truck. A month later the Check Engine Light comes on. Take it to the dealer. The service writer politely advises you to put the stock airbox back on before bringing it back for warranty service. Why? Because oiled cloth air filters can and do put oil vapors on the MAF sensor wire and cause a computer fault. Cleaning of that wire is covered if it is not caused by an alteration, not covered if it is.
As far as dealer-installed mods are concerned, they are not covered by Ford, so you had better go back to the selling dealer. Galpin Motors is a reputable place and my family has purchased cars from them, but the written warranty is clear, "once it leaves control of the Ford Motor Company". Franchised dealers are not owned by Ford.
It's all in the relationship. My Lincoln dealer would void my warranty if I added aftermarket wheels. My Ford dealer replaced a motor after I had added the KB SC.

That's probably the final word.........but if I may expound just a tad:
It's also in the relationship the dealer has with Ford..........if Ford even THINKS there's warranty abuse going on, they most likely want every part sent back and scrutinize every claim.
