EGT stands for Exhaust Gas Temp, well i think it do. Yall have been doin some talkin bout getting a gauge for that. That the same thing as a pyrometer in the big trux ?
Where do they mount the EGT sensor? Can u tap into it's electrical signal to operate the gauge?
Youll have to mount a sensor either on manifold or on the downpipe off the turbo. Its a pain trying to get to the down pipe to weld the nut to it to mount the sensor, but it can be done. I've put one on my truck and it works fine.
Does it give u anymore ponies? Whats the 6637 mod? Whats your mileage like? Ive got a 95 F250 4wd stroker with an auto, 4:10 gears, 2 4" curved chrome pipes behind the cab, flip chip, edge juice box, 3" downpipe, K&N filter, three pod pillar guage set, boost press. tranny temp, pyro. Id like to get a few more ponies out of the old girl without spending a fortune.

Yo Diesel nut ... U should get a !!
Well in the old days... more fuel pressure meant, more fuel could b squirted through them injectors. If the engine got more to eat, it's gonna produce more hp. But we in electronic age, so I'm not sure if more pressure = more hp ... since the injectors are electronicly metered. No?
Well on my PSD the original pump kept the pressure between 58 - 68 the factory calls for at least 65 so I left it alone but after I changed the fuel pump the pressure was between 42 - 52 so I shimmed it up to 75 .Before I shimmed it I drove it and she didn't seem to have the high rpm power, once I shimmed it she ran great. I keep track of my mpg with the ownersite maintance program and for the last year I have gotten 17.93 mpg thats towing ,city driving , highway driving ,and hotroding.
The 6637 mod is a air intake mod . You remove the old air filter box completly and replace it with a much larger open air filter ( the 6637) and a four inch 45degree elbow. I don't have any pictures of it in my gallery a lot of the members do . It is a simple and cheap mod the original air box allows dirt to leak by eventually destroying your turbo wheel.

EGT gauge = pyrometer. Same same.
The factory computer is not aware of EGT's. You have to mount a thermocouple in the exhaust system, preferably in front of the turbo in the drivers side exhaust manifold or the up pipe to the turbo.
