I have searched the forums and not really found a definite answer so I am asking here. I want to get my lower rockers sprayed with Line-X to protect them, but I don't want them to fade/gray like the bedliners always do. I want to know if there is a sure fire way to keep it shiny and black? I have been told tire shine, back to black trim spray, clear coating them, or just having them redyed. I don't want to let them get gray then redye them, and I want something that will keep it shiny/black without having it go all over the paint or having to apply it every other day. So anybody with experience in this area or any line-x dealers, appliers, or any other line-x associated people (I know there are some on FTE) please feel free to point me in the right direction.
I suppose you could clear coat it, just mask off everything around it. I'm more familiar with using "rock-guard" which is a stick on protection (kinda like skateboard grip-tape) that you paint the top coat color over it. There's a spray version too, which I never used. But I'd clear coat it and see what happens over time. My 2 cents.
