Spark Knock?
I have a 92 F150 extended cab XLT 2WD w/ 5.9L engine, 137k miles.
I recently replaced the spark plugs with Champion plugs. Now I have what I believe is spark knock between 45 and 50 mph under load (like driving up a hill). My check engine light is on. Codes say it not picking up EGR pressure sensor. Also, my tach will not drop back below 2400 rpm while the engine is running. It moves on up to 3500 or so, but never drops below 2400, even when I know the actual revs are 900 or so. It drops to zero when the ignition is off. Also, I have occaisional speedometer flutter and my ABS light is on. I read in previous threads where the speedo flutter and ABS light may be connected, if the VSS is dirty or bad. I thought perhaps there were some other common culprits to my list of problems. Anyone have any suggestions? Many thanks in advance. Oh yeah - I have recently replaced the thermostat and PCV valve also.
