Power boosting

If i put my truck in 4x4 high and power boost for off the line speed and switch it back to 2wd in mid run will i run faster than what i would in 4x4 mode.

The front hubs will not disengage until power is removed.

i have the automatic 4x4 switch in the truck and my wheels have the manual or automatic locking mechanism. I dont understand what the hub locks do that the switch inside doesnt, i have never owned a 4x4 b4.

The switch in the truck sends vacuum to engage the front hubs when the hubs are in auto mode.

Talking how 4x4 works

if you have manual hubs then all the switch does is to engage your transfer case, then you have to get out and lock in your front hubs, other wise you turning you front drive shaft but it is not connected to the front wheels. if you have auto then on some trucks it does use vacuum to pull in the hubs (front drive shaft) and on other types it does nothing and when you front shaft turns because you transfer case has just been locked in, then you front hubs rotate into place but will not unlock intill you have taken transfer case out of 4X4 and backed up 5 feet or so, ( old school)

you front and reends do not have the same gears and turn at diffent speeds ( close to the same but not) so it will bind up and can break stuff ( on snow ,water, mud it will be ok because they can slip when needed)

I also doubt that the transfer case would shift under that much load.

It would be better to make the run in 4 hi, unless there is enough traction to get a good launch in 2 hi.

if i dont power boost in 4x4 the truck is a dog until about 1800 rpms and by that time there is a hell of alot of catching up to do.I really need to get some mods to help out with that.
Ive read so many different threads and i am so confused about what is the best for my truck.I wish there was a thread that had all main competetors actual hp,trq, and mileage gains added on single then all together. THAT would be an awesome topic.

You can launch in 4x4 hi and then just leave it till you get ready to make the turn to come back. As long as you are going straight you will be fine. Even if you switch it in mid run it will not disengage till you remove power anyway.

I put a steroid power booster on my truck, now I can whoop my friends 95 5.0 mustang, easy at that !!! till I hit 100 mph then the computer cuts me off but by then I am way ahead !
i got it at black cloud diesel . check it out, for the money its a lot of bang for the buck 150$ vs 300-600$ for a programmer
