Ok so one of the first problems I have with my '95 F350 psd is the Water in Fuel light comes on... Simple fix... pop the bonnet errrm hood, get under the nose of the truck with your drain bucket and place under the tube. Crawl up over the bumper n kneel on the radiator, open up tha whatchamacallit n look down inta the valley where the fuel filter is located. Pull the YELLOW drain valve and jump down quick! Look under your truck to see water and fuel SPLASHING all over your front end parts!! Jump back up and close the yellow drain valve.
NOW WHO THA HECK IN FMC DESIGNED THAT?? Would another 4" - 8" of tubing really put FMC into bankruptcy?? Dang they didn't tell me I'd need to use a 3' - 5' drain pan to catch it all!!
i use some 3/8 rubber hose attached to mine when i drain it about 1.5 ft long. works like a champ. yes very poor design.
3/8" u say? Awesome! Now I don't have to get back down there n measure. 1 small hose clamp, approx 6" of hose routed in the right direction... VIOLA! Problem solved.
Drain it out on the driveway, helps settle the dust. LOL
Well since I ent got a garage... All my work is done in the driveway. However I got this one grassy section of a parking area I like to do my work on. It ain't so gritty when u layin in the grass ;-) U know diesel kills grass right good?
It's not a hose, it's a metal tube, that you need to put a short piece of hose on. I used about 18 inches and ran it to the front bumper. I have it tucked into the bumper support, and when I need to drain it, I just bend over, reach under the bumper and pull it loose, and stick it into a jar.
