Steering part question
I have a 1977 Ford F-250 supercab 2WD. When the stearing column comes through the fire wall there is a break in it with one circular piece about 3" diameter on either side of the break. These 2 pieces fit together and then there is the gear box, I think. These two pieces SHOULD fit tightly together, but they don't, and have a TON of play. It looks extremely easy to replace, just a couple of bolts. The hard part is finding out what it is called so I can go buy one. Everytime I try to describe it to the idiots at the part store, each one has a different part that they think it is, and none of them can agree, and nothing that they show me comes close to it. Someone PLEASE HELP!!!!!! Truck can be driven once this part is fixed. Thank you in advance for any help.

A "Rag Joint" which is a reinforced rubber disc affair goes in there and flexes while also dampening vibrations & road shock. Go to any decent parts jobber and ask for a "Rag Joint" for a 77 F-250 steering shaft. . .
