I don't under stand why they won't make black interior for any truck other than the packages that are currently offered. would love to have a DRW. red with black interior.but no... I also like the outlaw but only offered short bed. SRW...
Am I odd, or would some of you like to see some other choices as well. does any one know of any changes to this policy?
I agree with your opinion of lack of availability of interior choices.
I wanted a 2007 F-250 with Lariat Highline Package (Black Interior seats with brushed aluminum dash) with Red exterior. It only comes in the Super Cab models.
I need a Crew Cab but you can't get the package in a Crew Cab. So, I fired off a certified letter to someone in domestic operations explaining that I've owned 6 Ford products in the 15 years I've been driving, that I am a shareholder of the Company, etc., etc., etc.
I also stated that I've called Customer Service and Shareholder Relations and that these people are of no help because they are less knowledgeable about the product than I am. Essentially, I asked that someone of higher authority return my call/letter.
You can guess what happened. I got a call from a customer service rep saying that there is no way to put this package in a crew cab. I explained that nothing would be different other than needing a full size back seat. Everything else would fit the truck since they've already make the parts separately.
I am now dissatisfied - not because they refuse to build what I want but because of the lack of response and knowledge of the product. They treated me like I was a regular Joe. No offense Ford, but I've bought many of your products and influenced many others to do the same. I also own 5,700 shares of the stock which has gone down the tubes.
same for me. I need a crew cab. been thair and done that. I've only had fords and thats all my family has. so I'm not sure what the others offers. but I'm going to find out.. Ford doesn't care about you and what concerns you. I to have tried to get a responce from the factory a couple of times on diffrent problems and no luck. I got so mad years ago I told a rep. that I was going to buy a chevy and the responce was go ahead.
I'm a little sympathetic with the factory, because one of the big objections we got on Harley's was the restriction of a black leather interior (no other colors available)- can't win for losing sometimes.
autofixer- let's be honest- what you're really tweaked about is the rebate situation on Harley's.

I have always wanted a red truck with black interior. bough a new 350 in 2000 it was red and I loved it,had a regular cab. I am a mechanic and have two kids so it didn't stay clean for long. also the new seat belt law when't into effect and I got a ticket. so I traded for a new 2003 250 with extended cab. only choice was gray or tan, so I took gray. still showes dirt really bad. kids getting bigger so I now have a 2004 crew, still have gray. starting to hate gray. I do ride a harley, kinda like the truck but you cant get a DRW. eather. my point is the black is in the harley, amirillo, outlaw.and the highline. so why can't it be in other color and configurations of trucks.love the KR but color of the interior, not my best choice.
Autofixer1, if you like a monochromatic paint scheme, when then get the XLT sport package. It is offered in a number of colors (red included) and black leather interior is a option with all the colors. I have a 2003 XLT sport dark shadow grey with leather interior. By far the nicest looking interior I have ever owned. My 2003 has black leather captains chairs with black carpet. Some black on the dash with some grey too. It also has factory carbon fiber inlays on the doors and center console.
