New here

I have a '94 Ford Bronco.

I have Deep dish Rock crawler extreme steel wheels. 15" diameter, by 10" wide.

I would like to put 36" X 14.50"

I have a 4" suspension lift, with a 3" body lift.

Can I put these tires/wheels on here without them rubbing?

I know some of you have encountered this and I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

I have checked a lot of FAQ, but have not gone back to day one.

Please help before I buy.

Shawn

Welcome to FTE and the Big Bronco Forum. We will endeavor to get you the most accurate information we can muster.

The only problem I see with it is the tires that have a section width that is 4.5" WIDER than the wheels. Rub would not be the concern, bead failure would though. At off-road pressures having the tire a bit wider so that it seats firmer into the rim might be a nice idea, but on paved roads at normal inflation pressures you are asking for trouble cramming a tire that wide onto a 10" wide wheel. Combine this with the fact that there isn't a tire maker out there who will uphold their warranty if they are mounted on those wheels; you might consider dropping in width to 12.50 which would be the maximum recommended by the manufacturer(s) for a 10" wide wheel.

One more FYI comment. 36's are the top end recommended tire size for the 1/2-ton alxes under your 94. So unless you plan on swapping axles, I'd keep 'em right at that diameter.

Out of curiosity, what gears are you planning on running with 36's?

I would recomend 4.56's. You should put lockers in while your at it.

And what are lockers, and what do they do?

Please help me out.

I bought all my stuff off Summit. But, they may not be the best. Lockers give you true four wheel drive. Limited slip is just that, SLIP. Lockers go in the diff and keep both wheels on the same axle turning. You may want a soft locker in the back if most of your driving is on road. I used a Powertrax. I'm happy with it.

There are several different types of locking differentials available. Each has its own best application. Might try searching this forum for information... the topic has been discussed at length on more than one occassion.

You will definitely want to regear the axles if you plan on running 35's. helirich's suggestion of 4.56:1 gears is right on.

That isnt much differnt. I used 4.56's on 35's (BFG's) for years. It will make your speedo read a little high and give you little more power.
