302 will it fit

I have a 1973 302 with a c4 trans 2wd. The motor needs to be rebuilt. The last motor I rebuilt my self only paid for maching cost $2,300 it was Pontiac 455. I found a rebuilt 302 for under a $1,000 but I don't know if it will fit The motor is from a 1990 car fuel inject. Will this bolt in using my intake and put my power steering, alt, water pump, distributor, harmonic balancer and other parts. I would think it would bolt right in but not sure about other parts.

Thanks
Keith

The '73 uses a 28 oz. balancer and flexplate, with a hydraulic flat tappet cam and lifters. The '90 uses a 50 oz. balancer and flexplate, with hydraulic roller lifters and cam. The dizzy needs a steel gear for the roller cam. I would recommend replacing the old points-type dizzy anyway, with one of the newer Duraspark models. Your accessories will work as long as you use the brackets from the '73. If you use the old WP, you have to use the old timing cover also. If it's possible, I would try and find all the stuff that went with the '90, including the FI and computer. JMO.- Pete On edit: What I meant about the water pump and timing cover is that the newer model 302's had serpentine belt drives and a reverse rotation water pump, which requires a specific timing cover. If your new motor doesn't have any of the bolt-on stuff with it, no biggy...just watch your pulley alignment with the new balancer.
