I just fineshed my first fuel filter change on my '06 f250 PSD. Thanks to this forum it went pretty uneventful. This is my first diesel, and after doing the research on this website and following the instructions, it didn't seem to be that bad. By the way the filter still looked as good as the new one. Could I extend my filter change the next time or just stick to the ford specified maintenance schedule? Thanks again for the posts.
Hey a good post.
Change your filter at recommended intervals. If you operate in severe conditions or suspect bad fuel, change when needed. You can also add the IH drain plug to your HFCM which makes draining the water separator easier, eliminates diesel down your hand & arm.
IH Part Number 2589259C91 Add the Fumoto oil drain valve for easier oil changes.
