I would go with the JCW special. I installed a keyless entry (I think it was a Valiant) from JC Whitney on my crown vic with no trouble, but I am having trouble with putting a different brand on my 1995 F150.
The one from JC Whitney had built-in relays and installed exactly as per the instructions. I added power locks w/remotes on my son's Ranger and used a JCW special. One of the lock actuators went out and I found a replacement from commandocaralarms.com. The replacement is working just fine.
When I got my latest F150, I wanted to add keyless remotes to the existing power locks. I went back to the site where I got the replacement actuator. The site claimed that no other relay was needed, but I just found out that it won't work without one.
