I have an 04 250 psd srw with the remote key fobs and keypad above the driver door. here is the problem. i found the factory security module under the dash board (pita) and have tried to reset the code using the procedure perscribed in the owners manual with no luck.
i can lock the truck by pushing the 7-8 and 9-0 buttons at the same time so i know they work. the manual says that the interior lights should come on when the correct button is pushed....now i have tried all buttons (starting from the beginning of the procedure) and the lights will not come on. i believe i have 1 or more buttons on the keypad that are faulty. the key fobs work normal.
has anyone replaced the keypad??? big job??? cost of a replacement keypad??
any other suggestions would be appreciated.
thanks in advance
f250...mine's an 04 as well and yes it looks like it is just glued on. is my best bet is just to order it from fmc? didn't know if there were any aftermarket replacements. i have been just using the key fob, but it bugs me when things dont work. that 1 time i need it it would be nice to have a backup. any idea on the cost for a replacement keypad from fmc?
Don't know the cost, but ford has A universal unit. Did you take the battery cover off and check it? Allso A word of caution, don't rely 100% on remote, I have A 7-11 store I stop for coffee in the morning and sometime the door remote will not work, I think it's interferance from floecant lights.
