PSA - Cruise Control Recall

Ford has been trying to get out of this recall for a long time.
I've been wanting to put a new switch on my van, but kept forgetting about it.
Now, I'll let Ford do it, and the wiring bit too.

There is a trial going on in Greenville, Sc. for the cruse control engaging itself and one person was killed and one is in a wheelchair for life now.
Driver claims they lost control when Explorer accelerated on its own and flipped several times.
They also sued the seatbelt co. and claim the belt locks didn't hold.
The experts for the belt co. said if the latches didn't hold ,there would be evidence . Xperts clain belts weren,t used when they had the accident.
Jury has the case now, I'll let you know the verdict.

Just heard on the 12:00 news that Ford was was found guilty and fined 18 million dollars. They are expected to appeal.
TRW the seatbelt manufacture was found not liable for anything.
This accident happened in 1999 in Laurens, Sc. and went to Fedral court in Greenville, Sc.
