Hey guys, my door speakers on my 97 F150 XL have been busted for a while but I never worried about it cause sometimes they play normally. I tried to replace them once when I was at work and bored but couldnt get the manuel window crank off. Yesterday I became extremely upset when Pink Floyd came on the radio and the darn speakers wouldnt play right, so I decided no that they have to go. Before I go trying to tear it apart I thought I would ask a couple questions to make the job easier. Them window cranks, what it that screw called and what size is it, and what size are the speakers in the doors? Thanks for any help.
The Torx headed screw I think is what you are refferring to. It should be a T-15 or 20. Im willing to bet 20... but if it is, and you only have a 15, it should be enough to break it loose...
Edit!: after thinkin about that... It probably wouldnt hurt to get a small torx driver-set to add to your tool collection. You know the kind that has all the seperate bits that you jus swap out on a driver tool (and loose a yr later )

Thanks Trigger! I already have a Torx set like the one you are talking about. The problem is the screw is recessed and the bit is not long enough to reach the screw and the actual driver that the bit fits into is a tad too big to fit in there. I will get it out one way or the other anyhow, just trying to make it a little easier on myself. Where is the site where you are finding the speaker sizes?
Thanks once again Trigger!! Just got done installing new Pioneer 6 X 8s in my doors and now Pink Floyd can play right. On impulse I stopped at Oreillys and found a set of all in one T15 and T20 Torx heads meant to adjust headlights, and that worked out perfect. Maybe next weekend I can do the back speakers too.
