Need HELP!!!
I got a stock Ford radio/6cd changer in console and all of a sudden the digital display decided to only work when it wants to. If i push the buttons repetedly i can sometimes get it to work. The radio and cd work fine it's the display that's the problem. What the hell's going on???????

Have you tried to cycle power to it yet?
Edit!: /Is the display just going dim? Or not displaying anything at all?
Since it looks like you can actually press buttons (or the face of the radio) and make it work. You may have the start of a flakey Display connection.

Sorry it took so long to reply....
display just fads away if I push RDS button or just on the face plate itself I can sometimes get it to come back.. other times it just flashes on then off again
I removed the circuit board behind the button faceplate and cheched for cold solder joints.. I touched up a few with solder pencil and It worked for about a month now it has started all over again I about ready to trash this P O S

I don't think anyone would flame ya for getting rid of it. And replacing it w/a aftermarket unit...
There has been some history behind this very issue. With most of the tech center repair bills usually sitting at 200-280bux (for this unit)... I haven't heard of anyone justifying to keep this particular model with estimates like that.
