doesnt matter the make...all it comes down to is hitch height, traction which depends on the driver(most important) tires and the weight of the truck

i bet my 85 ranger 2.0 4 banger would drag your truck all over the place in the dirt if it had 4k lbs in the bed....get my drift?

Howabout you stop bench racing and chain up to him? Thats the only way to know definitively. Everything else is hot air.

I have to say, I don't like pulls like that. Way to easy to brake somthing, but with 2 stockish trucks, it wouldn't be to bad.
If you don't want to brake anything, you could try on hard dirt, but this usually always results in alot of spinning, and no moving.

The 300 has a good bit of torque, so let it do what it does best.
Once your tires brake loose, you have no traction, so try an ease into it.

Like KO said, try and get some weight in that bed(sand bags, spare tires, anything), and get your hitch higher than his(if you have a drop hitch, flip it and the ball upside down or get someone that has somthing like that all ready).

Ok we are hookin them tomorrow night after work. I dont care if i break anything i can fix it but i dont kno if its worth the risk of the law being called. Im not that worried bout it was just askin opionions. I think honestly i would win cuz his truck is already beat and he cant drive a stick that well, plus i got about a 5 inch higher chainin point than he does since mine is lifted. If we hook em il let yall kno the results.

We did it at his house we had no intensions of doin it on public grounds. I was just thought someone drivin by might call the cops if they see dirt flyin and engines revvin up and all that goods stuff. Im sure it is illegal to do that and that was my worry. See out here the cops can be real a holes and they like comin up yellin at us for stuff that isnt even illegal like we burn on saturdays which is leagal but yet they come and always gotta stop to see what we are burnin. O by the way i did pull him because on the ground we was on was pretty slick i was spinnin like hell to but i got a lil more traction and i was movin forward, slowly but i still won.

Ok, sounds good. I wouldnt think that anything you do on your own property would get the cops called.....although, I do live in Texas.

it has a 5" chrome stack, no doors, new radiator water pump, cap, rotor, plugs, wires and tires

Just wonderin why didnt u make two trips? Was it a pride thing or what lol cuz i think it woulda been easyer to just make two trips. When we do wood we pile it up to the top of the headache rack on the beater truck and then go, and that way u dont have to worry bout losin logs as you go. i mean we have an 83 f-150 with the 300 with a 4 speed in it, it has enough power to haul more wood but why? I think two trips woulda been easyer.
