Anyone every had a problem like this????
I've have a 2001 f-250 ps with and automatic trans. After (stopping the truck and backing up) I tow anything the trans slips so bad it barely moves. If you put the truck in low 1 and play with the gas pedal until it starts moving and then floor it and upshift until you have gone 1 2 and 3 gear the truck will shift perfect. The next time you tow something it starts all over. I changed the shift pack in it the other day and the problem is still there. I've talked to five different trans shops and none of them have a clue.
Can anyone help I can't believe the whole trans is bad!!!
Yes none of them will tell you anything untill they got you by the shorties and the truck is on their lift.
If your fluid is clean an and not burnt.
they can put a pressure tester on it to see if the pump is building pressure ,but it sounds like you have lost internal clutch packs/

This post is old but I was wondering if anyone has run into this problem. It's been 6 monthes since the problem strated. It's not getting better or wrost.
I was haveing the same problem with mine, It turned out that i needed a rebuild. I blew the clutch paks because it was slipping and the planatery gear in the trans also. I had the same problem towing and everything. find a good trans shop and have them scan the trans codes and youll probably need a rebuild.
