Smile Three problems

I have a 1993 F250 truck 2wd. The transmission began shifting very hard ,the ABS light came on and the brakes wasn't functioning properly the speedometer had quite working. I figured it was going to cost an arm and leg to repair. I found the Ford Enthusiast site and found someone who had the same problems. I found through the site that it was the rear ABS senser. I went to Checkers and for $22.95 and about 15 minutes it was repaired. SO THANKS TO THE FORUM AND THE ONES WHO SHARED

That's awesome. That's what the forum's for!

Was it the rear ABS sensor, and not the VSS? (vehicle speed sensor)

If it was covered in a grayish material when it came out,you should consider a fluid change in the rear.
Or within a short time the new one will be doing the same thing

Ryan it was the rear ABS senser, it sets on top of the third member housing a litter to the drivers side. It has one bolt with a 1/2" head that holds it in. Remove that slide the old one out and the new one in. The wire disconnects right at the senser. If you have the problems I hope it works for you Billy

The correct name for that sensor is the VSS sensor.
It feeds the abs module(abs brakes activation) and the pcm module (speedo, trans shifting).

Just so no one gets confused
