Hey guys, I'm hoping you can help me out. My father has a 2000 F-350 Super Duty with about 207,000 miles. When he hits a bumb, his ABS light will come on, and while that's on, the speedomoter will fluctuate and jump. Any ideas as to what this means? Thanks in advance.
Sounds like the speed sensor. Not sure on your model year but the mid 90s models had a sensor on the differential. It is about the size of a walnut and is the only thing with wires sticking out of it that is on the fron top part of the diff.
It is possible that there is a loose wire or connection from this sensor to the computer which controls the speedo and ABS. It is also possible the sensor is going bad costs something like $15 and is easy to replace unless there is evidence of the sensor ring inside the diff being chewed up, in which case you probably will need a fluid change.
