Hey tbird, I have a pretty informative little spec sheet on 292s and 312s in my gallery. You'll have to right click, "save picture as", and then zoom in on it because the print is small. You may find it useful.

There are 2 flavors of the 239, Dearborn and Cleveland castings. All cars use the large bearing as well as early-mid 54 trucks. Late 54 trucks and especially the 55 will usually have the small journal cam as well as the 14 tooth distributor and 1.78 valve heads. This is what came in my 54 F350.
Caveat: anything could have been swapped in at a later date!
