stalling & unresponsive accellerator
'04 F350 SD - I recently took my truck in for 30K mile service. I told the service manager that I had not had the recall done (#? - exhaust backpressur sensor and re-program) so they did this. Ever since the truck has had problems. Periodically I will come to a stop and when ready to go there is no response from the accellerator. I have also had it stall a couple of times and it would not re-start. I had it towed in twice. (1) They cleaned the air intake? sensor. Worked a couple of days then towed in again. (2) They replaced the fuel control mod. Worked for two weeks. It stalled on me twice today and after about five minutes I was able to get it started. Ran fine the rest of the day. It is very frustrating because it may run fine for a week then out of the blue it stops.
Any one have similar experiences / fix. I have searched through the forums but am not sure what to look for.
When you get a chance you might want to cruise over to our Tech Folder for some great 6.0 info.

Has this been checked...there was a recall over a year ago that may have included your truck.
Wiring Harness Chafing:
Some 03/04 trucks with the 6.0 may exhibit a crank/no start, rough running, misfire, buck/jerk or lack of power. This may be due to the FICM harness chafing on a valve cover stud near the FICM. Other potential locations for chafing are where the harness routes past the EBP sensor, the belt idler on the driver side of the engine, the glow plug control module bracket on the passenger side of the engine, and the accelerator pedal sensor wires at the steering column (adjustable pedals only). Reroute and repair the harness as necessary. Broadcast Message 0918/1374, SSM #17522
Or this:
Rough/Surging Idle, Excessive Smoke, Lacks Power, Poor Throttle Response:
This may be accompanied by DTC P2263. Inspect all intercooler hoses and pipes and exhaust system before the turbo for leaks. Ensure the oil level is correct there are no oil leaks and all electrical connectors are secure. Check the ICP sensor as in the following bulletin. If no problems are found, make no attemp to repair the condition. Engineering is investigating. Broadcast Message 0225, 0471. SSM 16488.

Two of the trucks I tuned ended up having some chafed wires on the wiring harness (not far from the PCM). After beating my own head with one of them, I set the trutk to stock, sent the customer to the dealer.
They replaced the harness and the problem never came back.
The truck previously would stall 2 or 3 times per week.
Look into it; that could be the problem.
