Post Some suggestions From Monsta and hkiefus *UPDATED 7/7/06*

These are some suggestions borrowed from the previous moderator Monsta and hkiefus the moderator of the Expedition and Navigator Forum.

Few things that can help everyone help each other better. These are not rules, mind you, just some suggestions.

1. Put your vehicle in your signature.
We'll then be able to see what some of the specifics your truck may have.

2. Start your post with the last two digits of your model year.
There are certain issues that pertain to certain model years and so on

3. Enable Private Messaging.
Sometimes someone has some "off-the-forum" info for you that could help you out. Especially since selling isn't allowed on the boards.

4. Reward A Good Post.
Every now and again, someone may post some info that either really helped you out or schooled you on something you didn't know much about. Make sure and reward their expertise in or on the matter by adding to their reputation at the top right of each post ****Make sure you actually comment otherwise it does NOT add to their reputation.****

5. Report A Bad Post
While you reward good posts, you also need to report the bad ones. Trolls, flames, and anything out of the ordinary should be reported. You can report a bad post by click on the in the upper right hand corner.

Report any abuses to Toreador_Diesel.

Thanks!

See you on the boards

Exclamation Renovations

Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

On May 6th, 2006 I became your moderator in place of Monsta. Since then I've decided it's time for some changes and I want input, ideas, suggestions, and comments from ALL of you X owners that either post in this forum or lurk. Yes, all of you.....afterall, you're what makes this forum what it is.

Most of you probably noticed the increasing amount of stickies at the top. (Special Thanks goes out to CUINAK and Floundered for those ) Those articles are for a tech folder for things that are Excursion specific and/or things that apply to the Super Duty but also work on the X. (DIY mods, swaps, fixes, mods etc.) I'll need links to other threads you think might be appropriate in order to get this folder as detailed as it should be.

That's all I've got so far.....the rest is up to you.

Any suggestions, comments, and ideas may be posted in this thread or PM'd to me. If you're lurking in the midst and you've got an idea, now's the time to come out. Lets roll....

EDIT: Now isn't the time to be afraid to post either. No matter how "stupid" you think your idea is, it could become something worth while. The deadline to submit whatever you have is midnight August 5th, 2006.

Added 8/1/06:

On a more serious note, this thread is also meant for you to rate me as a moderator. What can I do for you?

let's start by making one sticky at the top. Too many clutter up the place.

Take all the technical stickies (threads) and merge them in to the new sticky just mentioned. Then from now on, just merge the tech thread into that sticky IF it is only 1 post long. If it is a whole thread of discussion (multiple posts by multiple users) then simply put the URL in.

So I guess I would make the first post in this new sticky have a bunch of links like...the spring code chart, biggest tire size threads, what shocks, swaybar info, headlight switch recall, what oil to use etc. etc. You know...FAQs.

The all subsequent posts in the sticky should be tech instructions. Just try to keep them one post long. Make sure you change the post title for each new tech instruction.

On a scale of 1-5 (1 being sucky) I rate you a 6.

FYI,

Its FTE's goal is to get rid of all tech/faq stickies and move them to the articles section of the site.

I can't figure out how to make a signature. I went to the Edit Profile place and could not find anything on signatures. Maybe I'm an idiot. Can you guide me?
