Clutch Problems

Has anyone had a problem seperating the clutch hose from the slave cyl?

I even have the correct tool and it won't pull out. My other truck popped
right out when I did it.

had the same problem with a ranger. if you are replacing the slave cylinder you can cut along the side of the fitting and pop it off without damaging the line. make a parallel cut along the outside and spread it open. the inside spring lock will release allowing you to pop out the line

I was only replacing the Master Cylinder. I ended up replacing it without undoing the line from the slave. It was a xxxxx to bleed, but I finally got it.
the clutch seems to be ok now. I think my master cylinder was leaking air.
I AM worried however, about getting the line to release so I can pull the
transmission if I have to. On the Ranger, the slave was still in good shape so I left it, on the F-150, I can see in the fork hole that the slave is dry and not leaking, and I have an aversion to cutting if I don't have too. We have no
rusted bottoms here in Phoenix, so it SHOULD come apart.
