Slippage in OD

My transmission seems to want to slip a bit going into overdrive at low speeds. Is this a common thing, or is my tranny going out (117,000 miles)? Every other gear shifts nice and firm, in fact so does OD when I'm in the higher RPMs. Just going slow it slipps going into OD (RPMs actually raise a bit when trying to shift). Any thoughts, ways to correct?

I'm thinking your T/C might be going.Failing to lockup completely would make it seem like it's slipping.Do u have a chip?

You don't mention when you cnanged the tranny fluid. You could try changing it to see if the problem clears up. Don't go to synthetic right away; its too pricey for this case, where the tranny will have to be replaced if it doesn't stop slipping.
Maybe a tranny expert will chime in and tell you if maybe you have a clutch problem, which might be cheaper to fix than rebuilding the whole thing.

I havn't changed the transmission fluid since I've had the truck (only about 3500 miles). I think I'll try that tomorrow - what brand do yall recommend?

Anybody else have any thoughts? Especially the transmission experts. Thanks
