Does anyone know of a company that makes a product that functions as a true side cargo crash bar that connects to the frame and protects the rocker panel from either a side impact and/or rocks when 4 wheeling? It would be similar to what you see on the Hummer H2.
But, I think what you are really looking for is what would be called ROCK SLIDERS. I had them on my Toyota Tacoma
they bolt or weld to the frame, not the body, for true side impact protection.
any 4x4 shop should be able to show you some and fabricate them for you
Those N-Fab's only have a 445lb rating...will do just fine for protection from the occasional high centering, but will fold up like a McDonalds straw under a good side load.
I wish Ford would leak out more info on it's F-350 Hoss Edition 4x4 truck! It had some nice rock rails that tucked up behind the pinch weld and was attached via the body mounts kinda like the Dodge PowerWagon has.
