Laptop Mount

I'm looking at putting together a laptop mount for my truck. Have any of you guys built a laptop mount? I'm looking for some pointers, plans, etc for one. I have a pretty good idea of how I want to build mine, but it never hurts to get a few other ideas.

Don't know if this helps you any, but they have these for police cars.

I often call up Jotto Desk or Ram Mounts... If I have a contract to fill...

I think both manuf. have some pictures on thier webpage if you need example(s) to build by.

The ones I use are mostly 1/8"-1/4" HRS or CRS for base plate and mounting.

Then depending on how high it needs to be.
It's usually 5/8"-1" Dia. HRS or CRS solid or thick wall hollow rod.

Check out my pics. I have a Gamber Johnson mounted on a custom console in my truck. One thing to remember, if the laptop isn't permanently fixed to the vehicle, your insurance company may refuse to pay if the vehicle is broken into and the laptop stolen. This was what Allstate told me.
