Hello all. I just got back from a month-long 9,126 KM (5,704 miles) road trip through the Maritime provinces of Canada. Before leaving I changed out all the fluids, including the rear differential and power steering. I also did the brakes all around, changed the plugs, and purchased new tires (did all the work myself except the tires).
I have to tell you, I am pleased with the truck! Not one problem and it only burned half a quart of oil. It now has over 200,000 km and looks and drives like new.
The expy handled four large people, a full load of luggage and a roof mounted carrier and still averaged 15.7 mpg. The best I got was 18 mpg and the worst was 13. There were lots of big hills and these account for the big difference.
The new tires are the best thing I have done with this vehicle. I wanted Revo Duelers but could not get them here. So I "settled" for Goodyear Silent Armor FORTERA tires and am glad I did. They are the BEST TIRES I HAVE EVER HAD! They are quiet, smooth, and in some really heavy rains they didn't hydroplane at all, not even in heavy truck ruts full of water.
Just thought I would pass this along since I have received so much help on this forum in clearing up some of the problems I have had.
