Question Anyone here have a late model Wrangler?

I'm thinking about selling the `94 Mustang GT convertible and getting a Jeep Wrangler. I fiqure the Wrangler can be a convertible, a small 4x4 and it can pull a small utility trailer. Who here has a Wrangler and how do you like it?

I had a '01 Wrangler, 60th anniversery addition, and it was a good looking Jeep. I hated the damn thing. It was always in the shop because the CEL was always on. One time I was on I75 and the front turn signal assembly caught fire. I had nothing but trouble out of it. I heard that 99 and older models are pretty good though. After my Jeep experience I will never buy another chrysler again.

I use to work at a Jeep dealer. They have one of the worse reliability ratings in Consumer Reports for good reason.

Owning a Jeep is like owning a MG, if you like fixing problems that can never be fixed because of its design, then a Jeep is for you Electrical/switch things are the worse things in a Jeep. The very good point is they have awesome straight six motors, even CJs.

If you want to go to a "its a jeep thing" rally and off road with people then it is a good choice. I would not tow anything with a Jeep, just like I would not tow anything with a Bronco II.

I think the Sahara with a hardtop, full hard doors, and A/C is a good thing. If you install a top lift in your garage it is fairly simple and quick to convert to a bikini top and leave the hard doors on with the windows down.

They sell a steel toolbox to go behind the rear seats and it is handy to have.

If you get one, go the Rubicon edition - purely for the stronger axles you get...

But if it was me, I wouldn't touch one. Not just because of thier famed electrical issues Rebo mentioned, but because every man and his dog wheels a Jeep.

I would personally try and find a series 1 Bronco. But thats just me.
