i want to lift my 89 supercab 2.5". all the kits say i need "near zero degree factory shims". how do i tell if i have them. also what brand should i get.
If your doin 33's, then go with the 4"! If your doing the 2 1/2, make sure you radius arm brackets are still solid. My 88 passanger side was rusted and had a hole going through it.
just remember, the bigger tires, the more meaty the suspension should be. Drop axle brackets and radius arm drop brackets
Do a search on the 2.5 lifts, i am sure you'll find your answer. I am not positive, but i think some people dont like them because you keep the stock radius arm brackets and it can mess with your angles, alignmet etc
the 2.5" kit that i am looking at does include the radius arm drop brackets. it was the 1.5" that required the zero degree shims. id still like to know if i have those. i will be running 33x10.50s on stock rims. i have them now and they do not rub except for on the radius arms in full turn but my 31s did that. my biggest question now is if rough country coils are decent. i have heard stories of either rough or tuff country springs(dont remember which) sagging almost 2" within a few months.
