what the heck is that big silver thing hanging off the front of the ford? it looks like it connects from the axle to something mid chassis. looks like something to get the heck slammed out of it when off-roading.
Ya mean hanging off the underside? Looks like the radius arm drop bracket...why it's that huge and that low, I've got no idea. I've been looking at other pics of lifted '05+ SD's and while they also have radius arms that stick down a little, none of them are THAT low.
Original poster did say that it was done at a custom shop at a ford dealership...maybe that has something to do with it.
Are you talking about the 3rd pic? I think your talking about the 4 link maybe?? It doesnt hang that low really, looks like it in the pic, but that drop off is a lil higher than it looks too. The actual lift is not custom at all, its all bolt on from Rize (rizeind.com), but the name of the shop is called "The Custom Shop", its an aftermarket shop but its kinda linked with the dealership.

instead of being a radius arm on each side, it is now a 4 link system. seeing the first pic i could immediately tell it's a Rize system. there stuff looks cool like that. the bracket has to hang low (if it even is low to some of you) to get proper geometry.
that is one bitchin ride, i love it. those wheels and tires look great. i wish i had the courage to offroad my truck without the hesitation of flipping it. wheres the smoke?
Couldn't have said it better than strokin. I was a lil scared at first about tipping but after a while it was no big deal, for being so big it wasn't that bad. And if your talking about smoke from the exh, my motors all stock for now.
