King Pin Question

Hi I'm a fairly new user. I bought a great 1977 F-250 dead for $ 450(Canadian) and put in a electronic module from one of my wrecks to bring it back to life. I like everything about this truck. The only problem is that the king pins are tight. The ex owner told me about this problem and had purchased a new set which he threw in with the deal. My question is... can I grease the existing pins up and free them up (as i assume they are too tight rather than lose) to save the time and hassle? Any tricks -heat,etc? Any help would be appreciated. I enjoy the 73-79 forum, lots of inspiration!
Thanks

Personally I'd change them. This way you are sure the problem is solved and finished. Chances are all that saved time and effort reworking the old ones would cost you three times as much future effort keeping them working properly. Fix it right once. Just my opinion.

Remove the zerk fittings and try blowing something like Marvels Mystery Oil in them w/ the weight off, and wheels slightly off the floor. If you can't get it in there, put new zerks in and put some MM Oil in a good manual grease gun and try that. . . .
IF that works you'll have to grease them several times & often until it's just grease and not grease diluted with the MM oil, if ya catch ny drift there. . . . 1 of 2 things will happen. Either you will succeed or you will have to R&R the Kingpins. . . .

FWIW, I am parting out my 77 F-250 Super Cab Short Box Trailer Special. It has over 450K miles on the OEM King Pins, it just has hardly any body left. . . .

you can take 140W gear oil, fill a grease gun with it, and pump that in the zerks on the pins. this might loosen them up..... mostlikely, in canuckland, the thrust bearing is seized up, and has to be replaced
