Mark LT Handles question
I know the subject of Mark LT door/tailgate handles has been discussed. My question is related but different.
I have an 06 F150 Crew Cab Lariat. The main color is Smokestone Metalic. I want to know what Lincoln calls that color for the Mark LT truck. I am going to be ordering my Lincoln handles and need to know the name of the color.

Sorry I don't know the color. But i just picked up a set for my 05 crew and I got my dealer to wholesale them to me. After tax the total was 250.14. 4 doors w/keypad and the tailgate. Try to get wholesale price from your dealer. I don't think you'll find it cheaper.

Yes, Just picked them up today. Those are the Putco replacement chrome handles. Don't buy them. They have only been on the truck for 6 weeks and the chrome is peeling off. Those aren't the cover. I paid $420 for that crap. After talking to autoanything a few time they gave me a full refund. I just put the tailgate on this evening. I will have the handles on tomorrow.

door handles
I also have putco door handle and the fit is of poor quality. I called the company to state the fit was poor, they took my #said they would check into it. I never herd from them again and they will never here from me again. Factory is the way to go .BWEP

Wouldn't it be easier to order the correct color code for your vehicle in a spray can, order the chrome replacement handles after market, and paint the handle cups? Replace the balck plastic handles with the chrome replacements I bet the the Lincoln and Ford colors are not the exact same color code, and will not match! Easy way to tell is look at the cross reference color code for each color! On the Ford it's on the door jamb sticker.
You can't go by color name but you have to get the code!

I talked to the body shop at the dealer about having them paint my oem handles before I bought the LT handles. They said they've tried this on one of there employees truck before and it didn't turn out well. The plastic finish has a texture and it showed after painted even after sanding it out. He said you can't get it all they way out. He didn't recommend any help. I learned about doing the LT handles here.
Kevin your right the color isn't a perfect match on my oxford white color. But it looks ok like it was done that way by Ford. These handles were much easier to install and should hold up good.
I would do this again. I don't recommend buying any aftermarket replacement handle after my (expierance). ---How ever that's spelled.

ok, then. I just went to bill the parts out and this is the price set up for web customers. So I am not sure what parts came up to give the illusion of higher prices but I do believe I sell below anyone on the web. And if you can prove it I'll match it for all FTE members.
