Tranny Question...

Don't know if this should be here or not, but here goes.

My shop has a 1993 Ford Super Duty car Hauler. Has a 460 EFI, and and automatic overdrive trans. It has the biggest trans cooler that we could find to put on it, and were running Amco Mercon V Synthetic fluid.

Problem I have is the trans has lost 2nd gear, and jumps in and out of OverDrive now. Was wondering if anyone can give me some info for a reputable place to get a rebuilt, remanufacured, or new trans.

This will be the 2nd time for putting a trans in this, not the funnest thing in the world, so would like this to be the last time, if possible.

Have you tried a Ford dealer?

I know there are some complaints about the service at some, but I don't think there have been any complaints about dealers in IL.

1993? Wow that's a few years old...must be a lot a miles. The E40D was not the most reliable tranny in the world...Is the overdrive light flashing?
