Ok 89 351 EB Fuel injected. I stoped at Jack in the crack for some food. I came out my bronco would not start. I think I ran out of gas. I go and buy 4 gallons and put it in. still won't start. When I turn on the key I can here the fuel pump click like it is priming up the fuel rail, but it dosen't sound like it usualy does. It doesn't have that buzz sound, It is quite. If I turn on the key a bunch of times to let it prime it spudders and trys to start. If I pour gas down the TB it starts for about 3-5 seconds. So I know it is a fuel problem. What should I look at next? Please help!
Sounds like your fuel pump is toast, but you should check the enertia switch. Sorry i'm not sure where it is on that body style, on my 93 its behind the passangerside kick panel.
Thank you all for your help. I think I have narrowed it down that it is not a fuel pump (thank God) I ran codes it gave me code 67 witch says no power to fuel pumps (inertia switch) Well I check this switch it has not blown or should I say the red button is in the proper position so it should be operating. So I begain looking at the fuel pump relay. I unpluged it and shook it and it is full of water. Well like I said at the begining of the post I thought I ran out of gas. Well I did not mention the fact that it is flooding down in texas and I have been driving through water so deep it even scared me. So a soon as my wife gets home I will go and try to buy another relay at the parts store (I hope they carry it) I will let you know if this was the problem.
Yes I many of you were correct. It was a soaked relay. I bought a new one for 10 bucks. Put it in and the fuel pumps wirrled again... it cranked the first turn. Now I need to get a relay for my horn. where do I find this relay. when I push my horn it honks about as loud as a fart.
Send the old one here in East Texas. It will dry out. Our rainfall is two feet below normal. Burn bans everywhere.
OK! my brother in law is coming from Sheveport this weekend. On his way home I'll have him throw it out the window. Where on Hwy 59 do you want him to chunk it? ?
