Trans Help
I have a 97 F350 PWD Dually. Have had 2 Jasper transmissions put due to overdrive going out. ( The second one under warrenty ) Now I have a new problem. The truck doesn't want to down shift when I stop. It wants to take off in second or high. I can manually shift it out and it is OK. It almost seems electrical to me but I know nothing about them. PLEASE HELP
Thanks
well most situations with tranny shifts is the electric/hydraluc solenoids on the valve body. But being that you have had 2 tranny's in this vehicle tells me that the system isn't getting flushed properly before the new tranny is installed
dirt metal particles play hell with these trannys
There are no majic tricks when it comes to trannys, most tranny places can chk the shifting right on the lift by chking presures.
You need to take it in again ,make sure they flush the system out before install.

We did change the fluid and put an additive in when it first started this. That is what Jasper ( that is what trans I used ) said to do. We didn't flush the entire system though. We couldn't find a drain on the torque converter.
I guess by your reply that a flush will not help once the damage is done. Another trans is in my future?
