I am gonna be starting on my 1966 in the next two weeks and got some questions. It currently has a MALLORY UNILITE hickie in the distrubitor and a white cremanic jickie on the firewall. I purchased a new wiring harness and really dont want to cut the new wires to put this back together. What does the cermanic hickie do? Can I use a PERTONIX hickie and not have to cut my new wires?
The white "jickie" on the firewall is a ballast resistor. You need it for the mallory. I don't think You will need it for the pertronix module. But I am not sure about the pertronix as I don't run one, but seem to remember this discussion some time back. Pertronix does have a help line that you can ask them directly.

P.S. I wouldn't use the terms "hickie" and "jickie" when I talk to them if I was you.
