06 vs 07 Changes

Hi all- considering going from my 04 to an 06 or 07. Being having ongoing issues that never get resolved. Love the truck, hate the little nagging problems.

Question- is there any changes on the 07 6.0( there always seems to be rolling updates) from the 06? Also, is there any changes in the interior/options available between the 06 and the 07? I tried searching with no real answers- thanks.

yes there is a new add-on package for Lariats in '07 called "highline" for supercab or "outlaw" for crewcab that has black leather, more chrome and if you order that package, you then have the option of ordering 20" alloys -- tho I believe you will lower your GVWR if you go 20s.

From what I understand there was a turbo update around the beginning of the year, so depending on build date, you could get it on an '06. There also was an update to the High Pressure Oil system on some fittings that cause noises on '06s. That update should just be going into production now.

We were making the same decision and found the difference in rebates weren't large enough to offset the depreciation between MY '06 and '07. Plus, as my dealer pointed out, if we ordered an '07 we get the latest updates PLUS everything we want and nothing we don't want. Our '07 should be built any day now....

Good luck with whatever you decide to do...

Your welcome! One thing I forgot to mention was the upgraded head gaskets. I've heard both that all '06s got 'em, or that it was also a rolling change during the MY, but nobody can say when it happened. I'd at least go late production '06, if you're thinking '06....

The biggest change I discovered between 06 & 07 would only be important to you if you want an XL......Ford now offers the power group (i.e. power windows, locks and mirrors) as an option on the XL I went back and forth and decided to order an XL over XLT to save money, then just add the options I wanted.

If you want one of the high end SD's then this will not make much of a difference to you.
