Temporary Bed Cover ????

I've got an '04 SCREW 5.4l 5'.5" bed and was wondering if there is a product out there that will allow me to take a road trip for example and cover my luggage in the bed if it starts to rain, but not leave it on all the time. I'm not interested in a bed cover or cap. I didn't know if there was some type of tarp or fabric that could be secured down with either bungee cords or tie downs to allow a dry bed during a long road trip?

I know you said you weren't interested in a bed cover, but you might want to consider a soft roll-up tonneau cover. What's nice about those is that if you want to use your bed to haul something tall, you can roll it up in seconds and then drive with it open. When you weren't hauling anything you could keep your cover closed and it would protect your cargo in the back from the elements and also keeps prying eyes from seeing what you have in the back. It also helps you get better gas mileage. Not only that, but I personally think it improves the appearance of the truck.

I couldn't agree more. I have had my LiteRider for two years now and still love it. Search the web for best price.

I think your best bet is an Extang Trifecta. Completely on or completely off in less than 30 seconds, no tools needed at all. Its a folding soft cover type.

The handles slide on the rail. Just pull them down and clamp them on the inside of the bed rail, that's it. They fold up for storage.

I've heard people say they like that cover, but I've also heard complaints that it sticks up by the clips (which I did notice in the photo, too) so doesn't sit as neatly as some other covers. I've also heard people say that it makes squeaky noises. It is easy to take on and off, which is something a person would have to do if they haul something large since the tri-fold takes up too much room when it's folded up.

You might want to check out the Truxedo Lo Pro cover that we manufacture. They have a lifetime warranty, automatic tension control (so cover stays tight even when the temperature fluctuates), only takes up about 5" when in the open position, opens and closes in seconds, and is extremely durable. You can get more information at truxedo.com or you can call us at the factory with any questions that you have. We are known in the industry for having the best customer service.
