Vic Ferrari HELP PLEASE....
I have done sme research and I need someone to confirm or deny the info I found. I have an '04 F250 PSD. I have the Superchips 1704 installed. I contacted some people @ Bullydog in regards to their Outlook Monitor 40166. They claim that the monitoring device is totally compatible with the Superchips tuner. Furthermore, they claim that if the SC 1704 has the "defueling" capability I am able to set temperature parameters that will actually "DEFUEL" to lower temps. I really want to buy this gauge setup, since I am running blind now. Can anyone confirm any of this????
Thank you

Cool. Do you have the setup I am talking about? The SC1704 and the outlook monitor? By the way, did you mount it with the standard windshield mount or the a-pillar mount. Do you like it?

The 1704 does not defuel at high EGT. It simply has weight limits for each program to ensure you keep EGT's low. The programmig is done rresponsibly to keep EGT under control.
The outlook monitor is a nice piece and will work fine, just dont set the limit too low because it might get de-fuel happy. In any case, it won't hurt anything and will let you monitor whats going on.
Honestly, with the tow or econ program on the 1704, you'll have a hell of a time getting it over 1200 degrees.
I had trucks on the dyno under full load at WOT for 10-15 minutes at a time (to the point where the truck could not "pull' the dyno and it would rarely go above 1150 degrees, occasionally 1200

I have towed my 6k+ boat and trailer in high performance mode (I could not get the SC1704 to turn on, did not know the cigarette lighter fuse was blown and controlled it) I took it very very easy. Is it possible to get into crucial temps doing this??????
also.....
Bully claims that their outlook monitor will defuel at set parameters when used with the SC1704...period! I cannot get a straight answer, can you get to the bottom of it? I am pretty much sold on the gauge assembly because of the mounting options.
Hey Bigdog....where did you get the paint to match your a-pillar. Oh yeah did you keep your handle????
THANK YOU ALL

Take this for what it's worth.....if I owned one, it would be in HP all the time, and I would simply watch the gauges and use my foot to control EGT.
I have an X-Monitor with CES and have the alarm set to 1200 degrees and the couple times it did go off were when pulling back out of a turnout when I'd pulled over to let traffic by. Mashed the throttle down a bit too hard in first gear and the tires spun and the temp spiked briefly and was coming back down about the time I started to lift my foot out of it. I was able to roll back to full throttle almost immediately and the temp never came back up over the alarm threshold.
Most of the time my high temp pulling is around 1170 or so.
HP mode might be a different story but I follow the directions and don't tow/haul loads above the recommended limit for each tune.
