2002 fuel lines
anyone have any problems with their fuel lines??? my 2002 crew had to have the fuel line assembly replaced (at a cost of $700 bucks) because the tab that holds the return line to the fuel filter holder wore a hole in the return line.

well that was the plan... my wife was planning to take the truck to ky. to visit her sister, so i took it in for an oil change. the tech that did the oil noticed seepage around the filter, which had yet to be changed. i took the truck home, changed the filter, and noticed then where it really was coming from. i took the truck then to firestone, where i usually take it, to get it fixed. they could not fix the line because of the funky fittings and stainless steel material, and would not "patch" it. they will only replace a line from fitting to fitting (which i prefer). so then of course ford does not sell the lines individually, only in an assembly with brake lines as well as the fuel lines.

We use special stainless fitting's just for things like that, they are costly at $15.00 - $25.00 each but not so bad when considering the cost of line set & installation.
