AODEto E4OD swap

I managed to secure an e4od from a e250 5.8 to replace my newly burnt aode in my 92 5.0. how feasible is this swap? i know i will have driveshaft issues along with xmember problems but i cant find a way around the wiring problem. other than buying an aftermarket pcm just to control the trans. Is there a diagram that i can use to try and cut and splice my way to connect it. I do alot of towing (boat) so i need this HDtrans. Any help i can get is appreciated

The computer you have won't operate an E4OD, even if you get the wiring straight. It just isn't going to work.

If you must do this, buy an aftermarket controller.

For big-block or heavy-duty applications, you may wish to convert to the E4OD transmission. You will need a C-6 type flex-plate for your engine application and a transmission with the correct case style (small-block, big-block, or diesel). The drive shaft will probably require shortening and cross member and shift linkage modifications will be necessary, as described for the AOD. As with the AOD-E/4R70W, either a Ford EEC system or the Baumannator TCS™ Electronic Transmission Control System will be required to operate the transmission.

I guess the easiest way to go is have the AODE fixed, or as my mechanic friend says buy a new truck!! How complex is it to R&R my own trans? Thanks for the replies guys
