My 6.0 had the hose underneath the overflow tank blow off. It appears that the clamp failed and the hose came off. Went to parts store and all they had was a clamp that was a little too big, but thought it should work. Seemed to get it tight enough but it blew off again a couple of days later. Have now replaced with a Real Tight clamp.
My question is, why would the overlow tank seem to be under pressure? Is this normal? The hose appears to be routed towards the water pump, this suprised me a bit.

Yes it is normal. This is a closed or pressurized system. The FORD hose clamps have been suspect for years on all SD's...even us gazzers. It was just time for your's to fail. I'm sure now that you have a good tight fitting clamp...you should be fine.

Thanks for your feedback Guy's, I haven't had any problems since I got the clamp on properly.
This issue has brought up another question. Do you guys believe these antifeeze's that claim they are appropriate for "ALL VEHICLES'', I'm skeptical but thats all that was available when I had to have it.
