Audiophile

Hey folks, I have a 05 SCREW with the audiophile system. MP3, subwoofer, 6 disc changer and the AUX option. I have the XM Satellite connected through the FM modulation. The sound quality is awful....even with all of the adjustments. Can the XM be connected through the AUX option and if so, how?

Question PIE Adapter.....

http://www.pie.net/store/index.cfm?Action=ViewCategory&Category=83

This link should get you to the XM related PIE adapters...

Then to order...
Go Back to the "Home Page"

In the middle at the Bottom should be a window with something like
"Order Online Now". - It should take you to a list of dealers...

Edit: Here is the AUX adapter link....

I was told by the Ford dealer that the 2006 is the only one that the AUX is functional. I already have an Satellite system, its just that the sound quality through FM modulation stinks.

Nope as long as you have the head unit with the aux button, you can direct connect utilizing the PIE adapter. In the 06 the aux button is used to allow you to use the XM radio built into the 06 head units. Not only can you use the aux button on the 04 thru 05 with the adapter for external sattelite radio, you can also use it for external IPODS.

Thanks for the very helpfull info. I think I am out of luck and wanted to get your opinion. I have the rear entertainment system and the integrated nav system from Magellan/Brandmotion, which plugs into the head unit. Is there any way I can still hook up my XM with this AUX adapter? My guess is no. but you would think there would be some way?????

is that implying a similar virtue as MILF

if you have the dVD you are allready set !!! in fact in 2004 when these trucks came out , you would have been the only ones (having factory dvd) to have line level input for aux devices.

if you hit the aux button once, you get the dvd to start, hitting it again goes to the rca aux inputs right on your dvd.
do like i do... connect the rca cables from your sat to these jacks and you are all set !!. Line level input quality .
I ran my wires above my railport bins, then down at the rear view mirror to my mounted Sat headunit that is on a suction cup attachment to the windshild.
since the Brand motion unit is there, you may need another place to mount your sat tuner adn hide wires. you could try to stuff it into a railport bin. if your truck is 05 or later, there is key switched power and ground available above the first railport bin

or with long enough rca cables, you could route to the front, across the front edge of the headliner, down the "A" pillar trim, then to the headunit near your cup holder or something....

you are 90% there
hope this helps

let me know if you have Q's

Where is the connection from the radio for the PIE connector? Is it at the base of the center console or do I have to pull the radio? My 2005 came prewired for the DVD package....does this help me with the install?
