I regret to inform yall of the following event that occured earlier this summer: the day my parents made me trade in my Bronco. It was already in the local Ford dealer's shop getting another starter put on, and they had had enough with her and gas prices are up yadda yadda. We looked through all the stuff they had and I didn't like any of the used cars they had, because none of them were trucks. But I test drove a buick, chevy tracker, and some other stuff anyway. At first they offered us $1500, for my baby, I laughed at them and said we'd go look down the street. They chased us out the door with $3000 offer. While we were gone the dealer called our house and said a manager wanted to buy my Bronco, and offered five something. The search at the other car lots proved fruitless and we returned to the first lot. Long story short, the final deal was $6000 trade-in for my Bronco, which made the tracker's price $2150. One of the managers wanted it as a personal vehicle. I didn't want the tracker, but the deal was too good to pass up.
Stats: 93 Bronco XLT, 351W, 214K miles, broken driver side window motor(again), cracked windshield, custom exhast, top never off. Traded for a '99 Tracker: 69k miles, 4 cyn, 2wd, tinted windows, cd, manuel everything, new tires, very loud speakers, and some aftermarket fog lights.
Fast forward to last week, my friend's dad was at a dealer auction, who can guess what rolled through? My Bronco, still had the Heddman header stickers on it n everything. Sold for $1400, he almost bought it. For now I hang up my Bronco 'hat and coat', but one day I shall ride again....
Man that sucks. More like just bitter. I just traded up from a POS 1994 Isuzu Rodeo. I couldn't imagine ever going back. I love my Bronco, and I worked hard for it so the title is even in my name. No one will be takin' it away from me!
This seems odd to me, on the same stretch of road from Auburn to home - the Bronco got 244 trip miles at half a tank and the tracker read 257 trip miles at half a tank. How accurate is the trip meter? I didn't think it'd be that close. Most of it is on interstate at 75 mph, both vehicles.
You have to take the tank sizes into account. It's hard to believe that the "tracker" (ouch!! it even hurts to type that) has as large of a tank as the bronco. But, I feel your pain in having to give up a truck that you love.
Well, even if the tracker has a smaller tank, it does get quite better gas mileage so it will go farther on less gas. It makes sense to me. Have you calculated your mpg for the new tracker?
