Cruise controller-Are they quiet?
I have an old NOS ARA cruise control kit that is still in the box. It was made to backfit on 70's Ford trucks. I want to install it such that the controller is under the dash (I am striving for as clean an engine bay as I can). Has anybody done this? Are the usually controllers quiet? Note that ARA went out of businees I think in the 90's, so I can't ask them.

In researching CC I was told by every manufacturer I could find that the controllers are all noisy enough that you would want to mount them outside the pass compartment. I plan on mounting mine low on the center of the firewall behind the engine.

AX thanks for the response, I had a suspicion that they could be a little noisy. I hoped that someone had tried it and it was OK. I may look at going low with it along side the transmission bell housing.
