Post Need '65 - 240 parts

Am really having a difficult time finding a thermostat housing cover for my '65 F-100.

Have checked most of the junk yards in the area - nothing close.

Catalogs don't carry the item either.

Before I put an ad in the local paper, I thought I'd post an SOS and perhaps get some help on this site.

Would also be interested in a complete engine (240) for the right price.

Many thanks.

Try a 300-4.9 water neck. The 240-300-4.9 shared the same block from 65 to 1996.

You may want to consider a 300 six if youre going to rebuild soon.Ive been told early 240s had a reputation for wearing and overheating in the first 2 cylinders. This was remedied somewhat in the later and bigger 300 which survived until 1996 in fuel injecion form . The 300 from 66 to 96 should bolt right in.There was about a kazillion of them made so a buildable block should be easy to find. When my water pump went out on my 94 the parts store wanted 90.00 for a new one.I bought a pump for a 30.00 for a 66 240-300 I had to use 66 bolts and change the pulley but it bolted right on.
