When you guys change the fuel filter do you drain out the bowl? Do you have to worry about geting air in the system or do you just put the new filter in and fire it up? Thanks for any help.
Yes, I drain the bowl and wipe it out. Lets me see what's in there. Yes, air will now be in there. Many pour fresh/clean diesel in after installing the new filter.
I don't. The feed lines are at the bottom. Also, I now have a burp/return system to take care of this air. Before that, I would just cycle the key 3-5 times before starting in order to fill the bowl and push the air out of the stock return/regulator at the top of the filter bowl. Do this and you should be fine.
