220,000 dollars?!?!?! this woman is an IDIOT!! no wonder her husband divorced her. and i love how this "expert" says "everyone is vulnerable, even smart people" yea right, get a life, quit trying to sooth things over and be PC.
i am really glad that idiot was not from new jersey. but i am also sad the con artist was pulling her high jinx here. it still gives us natives a bad image
Ignorance is going to kill us off. But what else do you expect in a country where most people don't have the rudiments of critical thinking? And by extension, are unaware of it?

Tsk, tsk. You can't indict a whole nation for one dumb female.

You're right, my bad for sloppy phrasing. Not "most", but "many". Have you ever seen the stats on how many Americans don't know simple things, like the proper movement of the solar system? Or more to the point, how many are bamboozled by basic statistical arguments?
Anyway, does this mean I have to add myself to the list?

YES! thats awesome. I couldnt have said it better myself.
People like her deserve to be scammed out of 220,000 dollars. 25 bucks for a candle. I could have dipped string in hot melted wax every 30 seconds for a while and sold it to her for $30.
I was nervous when I saw the link because it was for local abc station ktrk, our station here in Houston. I was dreading what the latest idiotic event from Houston had made the news. Boy, did I breathe a sigh of relief when I saw that it was not from Houston. You're right tjc transport, that is not going to help NJ's rep one bit. But, c'mon guys, of course it could hapen to any of us - why, I'm getting the sudden urge to give my life savings to the next kook who places a flier on my truck's windshield...did I mention I also just had a frontal lobotomy?
Yea, I'd say the generalization that it could have happened to anyone is a stretch. It seems like that woman is trying to blame the con artist for her own stupidity! She had to be really out of touch with reality in order to believe that "the spirit of God" would threaten Satan on her family if she didn't pay up. I am just thankful that I have a few level-headed people in my life to help guide me when my own logic fails. But some people seem to have no logic!
